Caveat Emptor! (Let the buyer beware): this book is not a novel. Instead, it contains scripts for five Dramas: three for stage performance, one for radio broadcast, and one for the screen. As all five works are set on the Island of Arran in Scotland, it is titled, 'Arran Dramas'. For those who know the island, there will be many familiar places but no familiar faces. Although the primary aim of these works are entertainment, it is hoped as well as conveying a little of the beauty, history and life of the island and its people, that some other issues of social conscience can be detected within these works.

Gordon MacLeod is a Scottish author who was brought up on the Isle of Arran and now lives in Merseyside. He has published five novels, four of which are available from Amazon on Kindle. He has also had work published in the Morning Star Newspaper, Action on Elder Abuse Bulletin, Rostrum, Life and Work Magazine, and the Communist Review. His is a regular monthly contributor to several Church magazines and has also written two unpublished works of non-fiction. His first novel an adventure story, 'Silicon Glen', was written in 1996 and published in 2009 by a new publisher, Tartan Moon, who produced it as an e-book. Further novels soon followed. '76', a work of historical fiction, was by far his most popular novel and was published in 2011 for Kindle on Amazon, enjoying a wide readership on both sides of the Atlantic. 'Just a Little Drop More', which focused on institutional abuse, was released for Kindle in 2012, and was followed in 2013, by 'Beyond the Tree at Mamre', which looked at the Church as it wrestled with issues around sexuality, marriage and the priesthood. His fifth novel, 'Carrot Toppers', was released in the summer of 2016 and looked at the challenges people face during a climate of austerity.
