The play follows the attempts of Samuel and Araminta to win over Louisa and John, as well as the comedic hijinks that ensue. Throughout the play, themes of love, class, and societal expectations are explored. ""The Farmer's Wife"" is a lighthearted and entertaining play that showcases Phillpotts' skill at crafting witty dialogue and memorable characters.1917.
