The Importance of Being Earnest is a witty and satirical play written by Oscar Wilde. It is filled with witty dialogue, clever wordplay, and humorous situations, making it a timeless classic of English literature. The Importance of Being Earnest has been adapted into numerous films, stage productions, and even an opera, and remains one of the most popular and frequently performed plays in the English-speaking world.
