The Inca Of Perusalem is a play written by the renowned Irish playwright, George Bernard Shaw. The play is a satirical take on British imperialism and politics during the early 20th century. It is set in the fictional kingdom of Perusalem, which is ruled by a despotic Inca. The play follows the story of a British envoy, Captain Brassbound, who is sent to Perusalem to negotiate a trade deal with the Inca. However, he soon finds himself embroiled in a series of political intrigues and power struggles, as he tries to balance his loyalty to the British Empire with his desire to do what is right. The play is full of witty dialogue, sharp social commentary, and biting satire, and is considered one of Shaw's most politically charged works. It was first performed in 1912 and has since become a classic of modern drama.THE PRINCESS. Oh no: you mustn't think I want one.
