The School For Husbands is a play written by the French playwright Moliere, whose real name was Jean Baptiste Poquelin. The play was first performed in 1661 and is considered one of Moliere's most popular works.The story revolves around two sisters, Isabelle and Leonore, who are both in love with the same man, Horace. However, their guardian, Sganarelle, has decided that Isabelle should marry Horace and has been grooming her to be the perfect wife. Sganarelle is a strict and controlling man who believes that women should be subservient to their husbands.Isabelle, however, is not content with this arrangement and seeks the help of her sister Leonore to find a way to escape Sganarelle's control. Together, they come up with a plan to outsmart Sganarelle and win Horace's heart.The play is a satire on the traditional roles of men and women in society and the idea of arranged marriages. It explores the themes of love, power, and gender roles, and is known for its witty dialogue and clever plot twists.Overall, The School For Husbands is a humorous and thought-provoking play that continues to be performed and studied today.SGAN.
