Twelfth Night, also known as What You Will, is a play written by William Shakespeare around 1601-1602. Set in the fictional land of Illyria, the play follows the story of Viola, who is shipwrecked and believes her twin brother Sebastian has drowned. Disguising herself as a man named Cesario, Viola becomes a servant to Duke Orsino and falls in love with him, while Orsino is in love with the Countess Olivia. Olivia, however, falls in love with Cesario, unaware that she is actually a woman. Meanwhile, Sebastian, who is alive and well, arrives in Illyria and is mistaken for Cesario by Olivia's drunken uncle, Sir Toby Belch, leading to a series of comedic misunderstandings and mistaken identities. The play explores themes of love, gender roles, and social class, and is known for its witty wordplay and memorable characters, including the mischievous Sir Toby Belch, the puritanical Malvolio, and the fool Feste.Mar. Get ye all three into the box tree: Maluolio's comming downe this walke, he has beene yonder i'the Sunne practising behauiour to his own shadow this halfe houre: obserue him for the loue of Mockerie: for I know this Letter wil make a contemplatiue Ideot of him. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
