Galina Belenitskaya, PhD, is Chief Research Scientist at the Russian Geological Research Institute (VSEGEI), in St. Petersburg, Russia and has worked there since 1972. She has a doctorate in geological and mineralogical sciences from the Leningrad School of Mines. She is a leading expert in salt geology and litho-geodynamics of natural gas. She is an active member of the International Academy of Mineral Resources, the Russian Mineralogical Society, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, and the Russian Science Federation. She has authored over 200 scientific publication, including 20 monographs.
