He has investigated perception and cognition in infancy for more than 30 years, and has published numerous papers and books relating to this topic. His current research interests include infants′ perception of object trajectories and infants′ intersensory perception.

Alan M. Slater is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Exeter. His research interests lie in the development of perceptual and cognitive abilities in infancy. Currently, his research investigates the origins and development of face perception and early reasoning in infants.
