About The Book

The book has been compiled with an aim to educate the young minds and channelize their abilities to serve the nation directly by joining the Indian Armed Forces. The selection process is quite complex and intriguing and requires versatile knowledge to live up to the values, customs and traditions of the Army. The second revised edition has been sufficiently enlarged by adding two new chapters on Field Marshal Manekshaw, citations of important Param Vir Chakra awardees, and gallantry awards. An attempt has been made to build up intelligent quotient and psychometric analysis through Picture Perception and in-house discussion followed by Thematic Appreciation, Word Association and Complex Situational Disturbances and their solutions. The psychodynamic aspect of the aspirants in a constructive social environment with interactions and convulsions within the framework of the society has been taken care of. The book gives deep insight into various attributes necessary in the profile of a young officer in the Indian Army, through practical teaching, testing, validation and development of personality traits required to deal with difficult conditions. The module is created through various demonstrative performances of the individuals through simulated exercises and difficult ground realities which help a budding mind to negotiate in an ideal social environment. The book covers this aspect to a great degree and helps the readers to chart a success map which is apparent through adequate validation. About The Author

Lt. Col. Rajeev Devgan (Retd.) has been former Group Testing Officer, qualified from Directorate Institute of Psychological Research, (DIPR) Delhi during January 1987. Lt. Col. Devgan is the founder of Universal Counselling Centre, Meerut (2001), and has the distinction of imparting training to 3,500 serving officers and cadets in the Indian Armed Forces. The selection rate achieved by him is stupendous imparting Hi-Tech teaching and validation of a very high accord. He inspires and motivates aspirants to realize their true potential. His simple and practical approach makes countless students realize their dreams by serving the nation. His 38 years of research, experience and understanding of the students have helped to lead and succeed on the path of personal glory and rich heritage of the Indian Armed Forces.
