About The Author

D. Mukherjee obtained his B. E. Degree in Electronics and Tele–Comm. Engineering from erstwhile Bengal Engineering College in 1974. He completed his M. Telex degree from Jadavpur University in 1977 and worked as a research scholar in the Thin Film Solar Cell Laboratory for about four years. He then joined his Alma Mater in 1982 as a lecturer. Currently, he is Professor of Electronics and Tele–Comm. Engg. Department and also an active member of the Centre of Excellence in Green Energy and Sensor Systems (CEGESS) initiated in 2009. His areas of teaching are: Electronics Devices, Microelectronics, Optoelectronics and Optical Communication. His current areas of research interest includes Thin Film Photonic Devices, BIPV Systems and Supercapacitors. Prof. Mukherjee has published several papers in the above fields and also is the co–author of three Indian Patents. He is currently a member of B. O. S. of etc. department of Jadavpur University and occasional reviewer of Microelectronics Journal and Journal of Energy and Environment (JEE), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. S. Chakrabarti graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Bengal Engineering College (now it is converted to a full–fledged University named as Bengal Engineering and Science University Shibpur) in 1978 and obtained Master degree in Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Engineering Specialisation) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1980. He has obtained PhD. in Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2004. His other research interests are in the field of Energy and Exergy Analyses, Solar Power Plants, Hybrid/ Integrated Energy Systems, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer and Biomedical Engineering. He has been teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur since 1991. Prior to that he worked in Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) from 1980 to 1991 in Operation, Commissioning and Fuel and Efficiency fields of pulverized coal–fired thermal power units of difference capacities. He has published several papers in his field of interests. Presently he is working as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering of Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur.
