With his graduation in Zoology (Honours) and later a degree in Law from Delhi University, Avinash Pushkarna joined the State Bank of India as a Probationary Officer in 1983. But his passion to be a Civil Servant made him join the Government of India in 1986. He has put in around thirty years of active service and is presently serving as an Additional Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax. He has received World Customs Organisation’s Certificate of Merit for his distinguished service. He lives with his wife, daughter and son in Delhi. He loves singing and music, especially romantic songs. A passionate and voracious reader, Avinash aspires to be an author of repute. My Red Butterfly is his debut novel.
