The Complete Poetical Works of Ajit Singh Sikka highlights the poetry of the Indian Soil and it seems to be the Light of Great Morning. Dr. Sikka writes as an Indian. He surely performs the vital function of a poet being the voice of the county for the people. He writes in rhythm and rhyme, which add greatly to aesthetic pleasure and takes us into a world quite different from that of prose or everyday life. His literary and artistic qualities will save this poetry from decay. Dr. Sikka’s poetry is running upon pleasant feet, sometimes swift and sometimes slow. While writing in English he achieves the distinction by using poetical types—Lyrics, Songs, Odes, Sonnets, Ballads, Epics and long and short poems.

Dr. Ajit Singh Sikka, born on 22nd August 1929 in West Panjab (now in Pakistan), did his M.A. in 1966 and Ph.D. in 1970 from the Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has earned both name and fame in the world of literature and is considered as one of the most renowned poets of Punjab. He won Golden Poet Trophy from World of Poetry, California, USA in 1991 and Natraj Award in 1989. Dr. Sikka worked as Lecturer in Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan) during 1972-73 and Sikh National College, Banga from 1973 to 1989. He wrote three books on Sikh Religion and Philosophy in English Prose and other books in English Verse. He stayed in USA from 1989 to 1993 and had written about the themes of Love, Life, Sikh History and Religion using poetical types—Lyric, Ode, Sonnet, Ballad, Epic, Long and Short Poem and Song.
