The concept of 'diaspora' has garnered unprecedented fascination with the substantial surge in migration that has taken place across the globe in the last few decades. Diaspora forges a home outside the homeland. Despite numerous persistent and anticipated challenges that are to be resolved, diasporas evoke a profound sense of longing for the homeland and a simultaneous estrangement or aversion to the host land. Viewed through the prism of the diaspora, the anthology, Writers of Indian Diaspora offers a scholarly analysis of twenty-six distinct works by Indian writers residing abroad. It is a compilation of a diverse range of chapters that examine the subtle complexities of diasporic identity, culture and belonging, offering a deeper understanding of the perspectives of diasporic existence and their literary manifestations. Each chapter covers a different author's work, ensuring that the anthology provides a comprehensive and sophisticated exploration of Indian diaspora literature. A unique and insightful collection, the book is an essential resource for readers interested in Migration Studies, Postcolonial Literature, Diaspora Studies, Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature.
