About The Author

Fyodor Dostoevsky (1821–1881) was a Russian novelist, essayist and journalist widely regarded as one of the greatest writers in world literature. Born in Moscow, he trained as an engineer before pursuing a literary career. His imprisonment in a Siberian labour camp and subsequent exile profoundly influenced his work. Renowned for his exploration of morality, faith, suffering and human psychology, Dostoevsky created some of literature’s most enduring characters and ideas. His writings continue to shape literature, philosophy and psychology, and remain celebrated for their psychological depth and philosophical insight.
