The story revolves around the lives of two women, one of whom is a wealthy heiress named Edith Ainsleigh, and the other is her cousin, Grace Roseberry. Edith becomes engaged to a man named Julian Gray, but Grace is secretly in love with him and will do whatever it takes to win him over. Through a series of deceitful and manipulative tactics, Grace manages to convince Julian to marry her instead of Edith. However, their marriage is not a happy one, and Grace soon realizes that she has made a terrible mistake. Meanwhile, Edith is left heartbroken and must find a way to move on.
