Man has created powerful nuclear and chemical armament capable of annihilation of the human race within minutes. Humanity which took so much time to come to the present stage would be lost before we had time to repent. Who would be the victors? Who would be the vanquished? Who would inherit the earth? It was a natural sequel of the advanced technology; simultaneous development of the mind had been unduly delayed. Jesus was not spared. He underwent the greatest agony on the Cross before rising as the son of God. Our Legendary Avatars, Rama and Krishna, have also undergone untold miseries before eliminating Evil. There is rethinking. Why should a Saviour be left to the mercy of fragile humanity? Is there no honourable way to restructure the human brain? The novel refers to a dimension of liberated souls who have forgone the fruits of liberation and stayed back on earth for the good of humanity. They have developed a new ethereal body, luminous and fairly permanent. They claim that the thought structure of humanity can be fairly and accurately viewed. They have evolved a technique to recognise the thought structure and change by reorienting the brain cells. The novel is a spiritual manual and contains glimpses of secret teachings of Tantra.
Narayan H. Nayak was born in Konalli, Kumta, a small coastal town in Karnataka. He graduated in first class from Bombay University in the year 1949. He was awarded a Foreign scholarship for study in Oceanography. Even before he went abroad, certain strange happenings changed the course of his life. Let him speak about this period. “I was confronted by a vast ignorance, which I knew, cannot be transgressed. Unable to break through, helpless and humble, I faced a moment of total extinction. Then I came upon a mystery. During the day time with all senses alert, I heard in the depths of my being, the heavy thud of an approaching mighty being. It came as if from outer space. It stood for a while on the outskirts of the building, then it descended stealthily towards me, reached and touched my forehead. It was formless. It was seeing without eyes, hearing without ears, touching without body, thinking without brain. Again it halted and moved on to encompass every cell of my body. I was lifted like a shadow, though wide awake, in that twilight which was aware; not myself. The shadow was growing, and moving beyond the limits of space and time, on the immeasurable wings of the supreme, to an unknown destiny. Eternity was on the stretch of the palm. Then the shadow dissolved, with it awareness; and nothing remained perhaps. Nothing. In retreating from it, I was left complete but there was something missing, which I noticed with the passing years, something since ages I had treasured; the ‘self’ was lost. The immeasurable power hovered round the corner like a ghost.” Mr. Nayak was catapulted into that dimension and with awe, he comprehended the Wheel of Life, the Time Circle, the Cause. In him, the energy woke up from the slumber of ages revealing the secret formula, the genetic code of creation. A living stream entered him ennobling every cell of his body. Experiences on the spiritual plane followed from a to Z. He met Tapaswini during his wanderings who initiated him in meditation which is ‘listening-looking!’
