'Who knows, Watson? Woman's heart and mind are insoluble puzzles to the male. Murder might be condoned or explained, and yet some smaller offence might rankle.'

The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's last twelve stories about the adventures of consulting detective Sherlock Holmes and his biographer Dr John Watson. With unforgettable tales like 'The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire', 'The Problem of Thor Bridge' and 'The Adventure of the Lion's Mane', Doyle reveals darker themes, higher stakes, twisted characters and a look into the minds of one of the most well-known detectives ever created.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930) was a Scottish writer and physician whose work spans detective fiction, historical novels, and science fiction. His notable works include The White Company, Micah Clarke, and The Lost World, along with a large body of short stories and essays. He is best known for his short series on the consulting detective Sherlock Holmes which were originally published in the Strand Magazine UK. Drawing on his medical training and wide-ranging interests, Doyle wrote across genres, combining elements of history, adventure, and speculation. Arthur Conan Doyle was knighted on October 24, 1902, by King Edward VII for his political pamphlet The War in South Africa. His diverse writing reflects his mastery of exploration with fiction beyond any single character or form.
