Wild- und Zuchtformen haben sich zu einer schier unübersehbaren Sortenvielfalt entwickelt. Maria Mail-Brandt, geboren 1947, verheiratet, Mutter und Großmutter, war lange als Buchhändlerin tätig und ist seit 1984 begeisterte Hobbygärtnerin im Ruhrgebiet. Sie verarbeitet ihre Leidenschaften Garten, Literatur und Reisen (Gärten besuchen!) in sechs Homepages, engagiert sich in sozialen Netzwerken und war auch schon für Gartenzeitschriften und mit Beiträgen in verschiedenen Buchprojekten tätig.
