this is a revised copy of Tuppence and a Bottle of Whisky, the story of the early years of Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band. This band began in 1972 and has kept up a consistent presence in the prize list for all major Pipe Band competitions in Scotland. the author of this book is an englishwoman who wed a scotsman and had two children. her husband was a piper with Newtongrange Pipe Band in the 1940s. Their two children joined Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band in 1973, and until recently their son was still performing and competing as a band member. He now tutors young aspiring pipers, and will shortly be taking the competition arena as a judge. the author is now retired, and has put her memories and contributions from others into this little tome.
