Kai never expected his school holiday to change everything. One moment he's swimming with his new friends, Wishes and Courage. The next, they're all haunted by the same dream-a drum echoing through the night, calling them to the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe.

Drawn to the Hill Complex-the home of ancestral kings-by a power they can't explain, they uncover a secret buried for centuries...a secret that could awaken something unstoppable.

As shadows rise and the final full moon nears, Kai, Wishes, and Courage must unravel the cryptic clues, face their fears, and unlock the truth before it's too late.

Some legends are meant to stay buried.

A thrilling adventure of friendship, destiny, and the power of nature-where history and magic collide beneath the blazing Zimbabwean sky.

Makhumula, Brandon M.: - Design Artist Brandon Muchengeti Makhumula, "Muchi", was born in Malawi. At the age of ten, along with his Zimbabwean mother and younger sister, his family moved to Masvingo and eventually settled in Mutare. Muchi spent several childhood days with the backdrop of the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe and has a great appreciation for all its wonder. At a young age, with a passion for drawing, Muchi dreamed of being larger than Leonardo DaVinci-both as an artist and an inventor. DaVinci, definitely an artist ahead of his time, inspired Muchi in various ways that included drawing, painting, and developing new concepts. Muchi is multi-talented and enjoys all forms of artistic expression, especially realism and animation.

Moeller, K. M.: - From humble beginnings as a corn-fed, Iowa Hawkeye, K.M. Moeller is a small-town gal, a charter member of the Curly Girls club, a flutist, and a bit of an adventurer. She has lived in Iowa, Texas, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, has travelled extensively throughout southern Africa, and has racked up many memorable experiences.
