Book 2 sets off with Anna reaching Hrafnheim, an unknown parallel world full of gods, demigods and creatures. There she is picked up by soldiers of the ruler Ragnara, but a renegade officer of the army, Rorik, frees her. Together, they set out to free her twin sister, Serén, who has been captured by Ragnara.
