Orchid is a collection of Victorian horror stories, produced by Dylan Williams and Ben Catmull. The comic books stories are adaptations of text stories written between 1800 and 1920, interpreted by ten different artists.

Ben Catmull is a Bay Area cartoonist. He is the author of Ghost and Ruins, Monster Parade, and Xeric Grant Award winner Paper Theater.

Dylan Williams was a cartoonist, a comics historian, and the founder of Sparkplug Books, a small press publisher and distributor based in Portland. He is the creator of the Reporter series and contributed to and edited Orchid, a Victorian short story anthology. He passed away from cancer in 2011.

Gabrielle Bell was born in England and raised in California. She began to collect her minicomics in 1998, which resulted in When I'm Old and Other Stories, published by Alternative Comics. In 2001 she moved to New York and released her autobiographical series Lucky, published by Drawn and Quarterly. Her work has been selected for the 2007, 2009, and 2010 Best American Comics and the Yale Anthology of Graphic Fiction, and she has contributed to McSweeneys, Bookforum, The Believer, and Vice Magazine. The title story of Bell's book, Cecil and Jordan in New York, has been adapted for the film anthology Tokyo! by Michel Gondry. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Kevin Huizenga is a cartoonist, best known as creator of character Glenn Ganges. His works Ganges, Or Else, Curses, and his story Glenn Ganges all have received Ignatz Awards. Or Else and Curses were included on Time's 2005 and 2006 lists of Top 10 comics, respectively. Huizenga's comics have been published by Drawn & Quarterly, Marvel, Fantagraphics, TIME, Slate, and others. Huizenga lives in St. Louis, MO.

Jesse Reklaw is a cartoonist and painter, author of the dream-based comic strip Slow Wave, which won an Excellence in Journalism Award in 2004. Reklaw also won an Ignatz Awards for Outstanding Minicomic for Bluefuzz the Hero, and has been nominated for five other Ignatz Awards. His work often appears in small-press anthologies and self-published minicomics.
