Este libro es producto de dieciséis años de experiencia profesional en la investigación de la hipertensión pulmonar arterial o ascitis en el pollo de engorda, problema que causa grandes pérdidas económicas a nivel mundial. El pollo de engorda, animal propenso a desarrollar ascitis asociada a la hipertensión pulmonar arterial se convierte en un modelo biológico idóneo para la investigación ya que es frecuente que la comunidad científica desarrolle investigaciones sobre las causas y los daños ocasionados por la hipertensión pulmonar. Para la elaboración de este libro se realizaron una serie de tareas lógicas en las que se dio relevancia a la gestión de la información, su evaluación y su uso en la formación de científicos y en la producción de conocimientos. Para la obtención de la información el criterio que se utilizó para su selección fue que estuvieran incluidas en el SCI (Science Citation Index) del JCR (Journal Citation Report) que edita el ISI (Institute for Scientific Information). A partir de los productos teórico ideológicos recuperados, se construyeron los conceptos relacionados con el área de estudio, se utilizaron diccionarios enciclopédicos, diccionarios especializados y libros sobre los temas afines con el tema de estudio. Se identificó el problema de investigación con el objetivo de buscar explicaciones a los hechos planteados y con base a esto y a la experiencia de la autora, se realizó la redacción de este libro.
