In dem autobiografischen Text wird das "Ich" plötzlich mit der Diagnose der noch unheilbaren Krankheit "Multiple Sklerose" konfrontiert. Mit diesem Befund verändert sich sein Leben radikal. Abschied nehmen vom gewohnten Leben, reagieren auf augenblickliche Veränderungen in der gesundheitlichen Dauerkrise. Reflexion, Akzeptanz der Tatsachen und Sinnsuche hei en nun ab sofort die Schwerpunkte in seinem Leben. Biografische Episoden begleiten das "Ich" bei der Ursachensuche der Krankheit, ebenso flie en sie in die Bewertung und Annahme seines neuen Lebens ein. Ein Psychogramm eines Krankheitsverlaufs entsteht. Auf der Suche nach dem bestmöglichen Leben mit MS lässt sich das "Ich" auf die unterschiedlichsten Medikamente, z.T. in Medikamentenstudien ein und probiert verschiedene Behandlungsansätze und Therapien aus. Der Protagonist lernt während seiner Krankenhausaufenthalte viele andere Patienten kennen, die ganz unterschiedlich mit ihrer jeweiligen Situation umgehen. Jeder ist gezwungen, auf seinen au ergewöhnlichen Zustand zu reagieren. Der Konflikt zwischen der Realität und der inneren Welt eines Menschen nimmt immer mehr Raum ein. Die Frage nach der doppelten Identität, in der man lebt, führt zur Synthese von der "gesunden" und der "kranken" Realität. Der Text lebt einerseits von einem biografischen Realitätsanteil, andererseits von zusammengefügter Fiktion, die den Text zu einer romanhaften Geschichte werden lassen.

Thomas Worch, am 27.04.56 in Leipzig geboren, Kindheit bei den Großeltern in einem kleinen Industriedorf bei Leipzig. Durch die Tätigkeiten der Mutter (Lehrerin) und des Vaters (Diplomat) erfolgte der Umzug nach Berlin. Es folgten Auslandsaufenthalte in Ungarn und Syrien, danach das Weiterleben bei der Tante in Thüringen, dann wieder Berlin, Schule, Lehrausbildung Nachrichtentechnik. Armeezeit. Volontariat bei der Berliner Zeitung. Studium der Außenwirtschaft. 1982 Jugendklubarbeit beim "Prater", Berlin. 1984 Ausreiseantrag. Reinigungskraft. Ab 1985 Arbeit für das Dok. Filmstudio Berlin. 1989 über Ungarn nach Westdeutschland. Erfahrungen beim WDR, Arbeit für den "Stattbuch Verlag", Ausbildung zum PR-Berater, Tätigkeit in einer PR-Agentur, ab 1995 PR für ein Reiseunternehmen. Ab 2000 chronische Erkrankung MS. Autor.
