She is an active advocate for equity in the industry, serving on the board of the Alliance of Women Film Composers and the SCL Foundation, and as Chair of the Black Caucus for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.Her work is grounded in purpose, intention, and the belief that what we imagine, we can become.

Stinson, Yvonne: - Yvonne Stinson is a creative, entrepreneur, and lifelong nurturer of both people and possibility. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and later rooted in Oakland, California, she built community as a celebrated hairstylist while also founding Joyful Celebrations, a singing telegram and children's party company rooted in imagination and joy. A former special needs educator, Yvonne has always led with patience, compassion, and creativity. Whether through song, storytelling, sewing, or her famously unforgettable red velvet cakes, she has a gift for turning everyday moments into something meaningful. She is currently working on her first book of poetry.
