The history of India since independence has also been discussed in this volume. Some of the other important topics covered in this volume include the Indian movements for reform and social change, the impact of the British paramountcy on Indian economy and the legacy that it has left. Prof. N. Jayapalan, M.A. (History and Political Science), M.Phil. (History), Ph.D. (History), has retired from Government Arts College (Autonomous), Karur, Tamil Nadu. A keen participant at seminars and conferences connected with Indian History and Political Science, Prof. Jayapalan has authored several books on History and Political Science including Indian Society and Social Institutions, History of India, History of World Civilisation, Problems of Indian Education, Comprehensive Modern Political Analysis, Comprehensive Study of Aristotle, Comprehensive Study of Plato, Comprehensive History of Political Thought, Social and Cultural History of India Since 1556, Sociological Theories, History of English Literature, Indian Administration, History of the United State of America, Human Rights, and Historiography.
