The history, culture and traditions of Tibet (Lhasa) and Greater Tibet (Ladakh) constitute a distinguished feature, the roots of which are so deep right from the beginning of civilizations. Geographically Tibet is the “roof of the world” and spiritually it is the abode of the universe. But both these regions still remain isolated owing to their topography, climate and inaccessibility.
Tibet and Ladakh are the most ancient regions not only just to passionately observe but also to be deeply researched for their socio-cultural, economic and historical significance.
The book originally written by Wazir Hashmatullah Khan Lukhnavi in Urdu comes to the reader in English in its best contents incorporating all vital information on Tibet and Ladakh, which will be very useful to the students, teachers, researchers and also to the spiritual world.
Penned by such a person of eminence, who was also the Wazir-e-Wazarat of Ladakh, the book is the authentic chronology of history and an anthology of significant socio-political events of the past and present which shaped both these regions and Baltistan. The book presents to the reader a comprehensive canvas as the author minutely observes the people’s traditional way of life; together with their rich and distinct heritage.
