der Gewalt. Er verband die R�ume der "Sklavenproduktion" im Innern
Afrikas �ber K�sten und Inseln, auf denen sich erste Formen von modernen
Sklavereien entwickelten, bis hin zu den Gebieten der Amerikas, in denen
sich im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert dynamische Formen der Massensklaverei
mit Hochtechnologien (Second Slavery) entwickelten. Auf Basis der
Traumata der rund 12-13 Millionen aus Afrika Verschleppten untersucht
vorliegender Band vor allem gro e Kaufl eute/Ausr�ster (und Versicherer)
der Sklavenschiffe, Kapit�ne, Faktoren in Afrika und Schiffs�rzte, aber
auch die staatlichen Sklavenhandels-Profi teure des Westens, der Amerikas
sowie Afrikas (Portugal, Gro britannien, Frankreich, Niederlande, USA,
Brasilien, Spanien/ Kuba und baltische Gebiete, Dahomey, Oyo, Kongo,
Matamba, Kasanje, Angola, Loango, Futa-Staaten, Sokoto-Kalifat u.a.).
Besondere Aufmerksamkeit gilt transkulturellen Lebensformen der
Menschen, die - oft als Nachkommen von iberischen M�nnern und afrikanischen Frauen - als Atlantikkreolen die Sklavenschiffsbesatzungen der
rund 40000 Fahrten zwischen Amerika und Afrika stellten. Sie arbeiteten
in direktem Kontakt mit den Versklavten. Atlantikkreolen waren auch
�bersetzer, Heiler, K�che und Ruderer oder Wachen. Sie vermittelten die
Gesch�fte zwischen Atlantik und dem Innern der Kontinente - oft selbst in
einer Art Sklavenstatus. Und sie entwickelten schon seit dem 16. Jahrhundert
Lebens-, Wissens-, Konsum- und Kulturformen, die in Europa erst im
18. Jahrhundert, vor allem aber im 19. Jahrhundert als Kosmopolitismus
und Biedermeier-Kapitalismus Furore machten und noch heute Grundlagen
der Globalisierung bilden.
