English summary: In October 1945 - only one year after being destroyed in an air raid - the University of Bonn was re-opened. There was no everyday life at all: the university buildings were only poorly restored, the greater part of the academic staff incriminated because of their former Nazi-affiliations. The students were starving and they were suffering from a lack of housing and coal. Despite all of these needs, the students had a mood of idealism and the courage to start a new university life. For the first time, they could now enjoy an uncensored academic life with re-established international connections. They had the possibility to organise themselves in a free and self-determined way and could express their wishes and aims freely. The students of Bonn University are representatives of a whole generation of students which became the political and social elite of the Federal Republic of Germany since the sixties. German text. Sie verfugen uber lange ungekannte Moglichkeiten zur Selbstorganisation und zur freien Formulierung ihrer Wunsche und Ziele. Die Studenten der Universitat Bonn stehen reprasentativ fur eine ganze Studentengeneration, die in den 60er Jahren zur politischen und gesellschaftlichen Fuhrungsschicht der Bundesrepublik heranwachst. Anfang der 50er Jahre beginnt sich der universitare Alltag zu normalisieren.
