The History of Camp Minsi tells the story of a Pennsylvania Scout camp and the people, places, and traditions that shaped it over more than a century.

Many people know Camp Minsi only as the camp at Lake Stillwater. This book reveals a much longer and more complex history. Drawing on years of research in newspaper archives, Minsi Trails Council records, photographs, maps, and personal recollections, Troy G. Brokenshire traces Camp Minsi's story from its beginnings at the Delaware Water Gap in 1919, through its years at Lake Tobyhanna, to its permanent home at Lake Stillwater.

Along the way, this book explores far more than dates and buildings. It examines the Lenape and Munsee roots of the Camp's name, the early growth of Scouting in the Lehigh Valley, the industrial history of Lake Stillwater, the Rubel family's gift of the property, and the development of the Camp's modern layout. It also preserves the stories behind many of Camp Minsi's enduring traditions, symbols, and personalities, including the turtle mascot, the cannon, the Big House, Naomi Henderson, Explorer Post 940, and the Rangers who kept the Camp running year after year.
