About The Author

WILLIAM L.A. HINDS - BIO Mr.Hinds has an MSc in alternative energy since 1986 and has been involved in renewable energy and energy efficiency for over 30 years having worked for several regional intuitions as a consultant, project manager and country focal point. These agencies include Caricom, CDB, UNDP, UWI . He is an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) educated trainer in the recently developed Standards on Energy Management (ISO 50001) and has managed several energy audits. He is also part of a network of companies that have carried out energy audits in over 50 hotels throughout the Caribbean in the past 20 years. Mr.Hinds has trained over 50 persons in the design and installation of Solar Electric Systems bases on technical vocational standards. He has worked for the Canadian International Development Agency as project team leader for infrastructure projects in St.Kitts and Nevis and was a manager of a small hotel/guest house in Barbados. Mr.Hinds is an innovator who leads Barbados in the development of solar electric vehicles, which are used to offer tours of Bridgetown and to provide transport for disabled tourists. He has developed a strategy for the introduction of solar golf vehicles into the Bahamas. Mr.Hinds has worked in the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency policies at a national and regional level and participated on the Caricom Energy Policy Development committee and continue to be on the steering committees of regional sustainable energy projects.
