He is able to look at what is considered "normal" through a different lens, observing the "imperfect idiosyncrasies of the seemingly perfect people" and describing his observations with the wit and wisdom of a modern-day Indian Mark Twain.

Often whimsical and always hilarious, Musings of a Misfit is a collection of essays and illustrative artwork that take conventional thinking and turn it on its ear. Topics range from the moral hazards of SMS lingo to the virtues of procrastination to the problem with wedding receptions.

If your sensibilities are easily offended, then this book is not for you. But if you need to take a break from taking yourself too seriously, then Misra will soon have you rolling on the floor laughing at the many absurdities of everyday life.

Sunandan Misra began his adult life by doing what was expected of him. After studying electrical engineering, a short stint with a steel manufacturer taught him that he didn't care for that line of work. He then studied automotive engineering at the postgraduate level and taught undergraduates at the university before eventually leaving engineering behind altogether to walk his own path.

He began his illustrious writing career with a smattering of automotive features on various blogs. After a year, he became an op-ed columnist for the Odisha edition of the Political and Business Daily, a daily English-language broadsheet newspaper, entertaining (or torturing, some might say) readers with his offbeat commentary about urban Indian society. He also became a regular feature writer for Auto India magazine.

He currently resides with his wife, Priti, and her innumerable soft toys. Despite this, he has never been treated by a shrink.
