J. Raymond Kent is the pseudonym of award-winning playwright and poet Ray Malus. Malus is also a successful computer software designer, composer, arranger, performer, theatrical director, actor, concert artist, and choral director. His plays, both religious and secular, have been widely performed. In 2010 he was named 'California Senior Poet Laureate'. Malus was born and raised in The Bronx, New York. He attended Bronx High School of Science, and Manhattan College-where he was in the Physics Honor Program. He currently lives in Southern California with his wife, Sharron. Malus writes under the name J. Raymond Kent when, "... I want to just have fun. That impish persona is so at odds with my more serious writing I don't want to mislead people. I mean, who'd think an award winning poet would write, 'Stories You'd Give A Shit About...'?"
