After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, she continued her post-graduate studies at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts, and with numerous nationally recognized artists in Savannah, Georgia.Recognitions for Sarah's art include First Prize in watermedia at the Biennale National Exhibition 2015 in Hilton Head, various awards from the Georgia Watercolor Society, The Southern Watercolor Society, The Watercolor Society of Alabama (where she just became a Signature Member), The Jekyll Island (Georgia) Art Association, the Glynn Art Association (St. Simons Island, GA), and The Mount Dora (Florida) Art Association.Sarah has illustrated four books and several children's toys. Frog's Rainy-Day Story and Other Fables, written by Michael James Dowling and illustrated by Sarah is being published in Brazil, South Korea, and Russia. Focus on the Family is taking over publication in 2025. Flip Along Fun, won the Mom's Choice Award designating it among the best of family-friendly products. One of the toys she illustrated received the Toys of the Year award from Parenting Magazine; another was chosen as Children's Book of the Month Club Main Selection.Ms. Dowling also has designed whimsical stuffed animals and women's wear.
