Biscuit Wants to Live is a story of a starving, wild foal who is rescued just as he is on the verge of dying. This is the story of a tough, little fighter who defied all those people who said he would not make it. Biscuit is a true mustang-an example of defying the odds mainly because of his huge will to live.

Fred, Bayles: - Fred Bayles is a retired national correspondent for Associated Press. He teaches writing at Boston University.

Ragan, Susan C.: - After retiring in 2001 from a career as a photographer with the Associated Press, Susan established roots in Oregon, settling on a 25-acre farm in Sheridan. "Working for the AP that long is kind of like having a family and you stay in the family forever," she says. Friends from the AP come to stay from all over the world. Susan has covered four Olympics, many World Series, five Super Bowls and six Final Fours. She has gone with the Pope to South America, covered five Presidents, met Marlon Brando and had a wonderful time. Now she shoots mostly horses, and mostly mustangs. She adopted two mustangs, Biscuit and his surrogate mother Indy. She also photographs Lisa Sink's herd of mustangs regularly. Susan already had rescued a race- horse named Walter and a retired polo pony, Albert. "Horses are just as fun to photograph as any professional sporting event. You can make exciting photos every time you take a camera into the pasture."
