This beginner-friendly method book guides children through their first steps in cello playing, helping them build confidence while developing healthy postural habits and a strong technical foundation through a carefully structured approach:

  • "Magic Moves" exercises - physical activities that prepare the body and establish correct posture from the very first lesson

  • Separate left- and right-hand sections - each hand is developed independently to build technical security

  • Engaging techniques - including left-hand pizzicato, harmonics, and double stops, designed to strengthen fingers and reinforce proper technique

  • Activity pages - to reinforce musical and technical concepts

The book features a carefully selected mix of well-known traditional songs such as Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Pop! Goes the Weasel, What Shall We Do with the Drunken Sailor, and The Grand Old Duke of York, alongside classical favourites including Ode to Joy, Can-Can, Surprise Symphony theme, and William Tell March.

Duet parts are available for all pieces, making the book ideal for one-to-one lessons, group classes, and ensemble-style learning.
