The Mary A. McBride-Lee Story: A Child's View from the Foot of the Edmund Pettus Bridge captures the courageous spirit of a 7-year-old girl quietly witnessing the events of the Civil Rights Movement. Told through young Mary's eyes, this illustrated children's book offers a heartfelt perspective on injustice, bravery, and hope. As Mary watches marchers cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge, her story reveals how even the smallest voices carry powerful dreams for change. This book gently introduces children to historical themes through empathy and storytelling, while honoring the life and legacy of Rev. Mary A. McBride-Lee.
