Celia Cook can't believe her luck! Two clumsy lion cubs need the help of her parents, the world-famous veterinarians. The family travels to the majestic Tsavo National Park in Kenya to solve a puzzling case. Together with local rangers and mischievous twin boys, they discover magic buried deep in the savanna and uncover the new problems the lions face.In their latest adventure, the Cook kids experience the wild beauty of African animals and make unlikely friends. Can they piece together the missing clues to save the lions from disappearing?

The Wonder World Kids chapter book series strives to bring global environmental issues closer to readers ages seven and up by combining contemporary topics with animal adventures. In her books, Dori Marx balances scientific information and observations with a touch of mystery and magic. In an effort to support local culture and entrepreneurship, each book is lovingly illustrated by artists living in the countries that the Wonder World Kids visit in the story. Shorter chapters and text blocks are paired with these frequent illustrations to keep young readers engaged and build their reading stamina.

Marx, Dori: - Dori Marx grew up in Austria and traveled the world several times before choosing New England as her home. There, she lives with her husband and three children, along with an ever-growing number of rescue dogs, goats, pet chickens, and ducks. Although she isn't a veterinarian, she has a soft spot for all living beings and has even learned to coexist with the spiders in her barn. Dori's books are illustrated by artists living in the countries that the Wonder World Kids visit. These local illustrators lend their unique style to the artwork for each book. Wonder World Kids is her first book series for emerging young readers. So far she has taken her young readers to the capital of Austria, the mountains of Peru, Central Park in New York City, and the largest National Park in Kenya.
