The Draco Twins Make a Discovery is the first in a series of children's books discussing differences in children and many of the struggles children face in today's world. The main characters are Dusty and Daisy Draco, young dragon twins. Other characters include the twins' parents who assist them in learning life's lessons.

Dusty and Daisy are no only brother and sister, they are twins with a very special close relationship. Daisy is an adventurous risk-taker and Dusty is more careful and thoughtful. Daisy loves new and different things and places to explore. She is quick to act, many times without thinking first. Dusty usually goes along with Daisy's adventures. However, he, then, helps Daisy to resolve the problems she often unwittingly creates.

In The Draco Twins Make a Discovery, the Draco Twins discover that Dusty is not like other dragons. He is different. At first the twins are confused when they discover Dusty's difference. They go to their parents to understand what is wrong with Dusty. However, the parents are not only confused, they are worried for Dusty's future well-being.

In this first of a series, Daisy recklessly causes a major problem and completely by accident, Dusty, because of his difference, saves the day not only for sister Daisy but also for their parents. By resolving the problem at hand, the Draco family realize the value in Dusty's difference. The Draco family also realizes that Dusty has become part of an ancient family tradition, one that will change Dusty forever. Of course, Dusty insists that his twin sister comes along and joins in Dusty's life changing journey.
