The Quest
Subtitle: Turas
What if a story you created began to step out of the pages and into the real world?
One night, a glowing breadcrumb appears.
Not in a fairy tale.
Not in a dream.
But in the quiet corners of everyday life.
At first it seems like nothing more than a curious spark of light. But the breadcrumb begins to lead somewhere - toward hidden clues, mysterious maps, and a trail of riddles stretching far beyond what one storyteller ever intended.
What began as a secret quest written for a distant king slowly becomes something far greater.
The storyteller never imagined she would meet him. The quest was meant to remain a mystery - a trail of breadcrumbs left quietly for someone else to discover.
Yet stories have a curious way of finding those who love them most.
And when the impossible moment finally arrives - when the storyteller and the king stand face to face - the line between imagination and reality begins to blur.
But the greatest surprise is still waiting.
Step by step, breadcrumb by breadcrumb, the storyteller begins to realise that the quest was never only about the one who might follow it. The journey itself begins to change her - revealing courage, wonder, and the quiet magic hidden inside the act of creating something meant for someone else to find.
Filled with glowing breadcrumbs, lantern-lit discoveries, and poetic storytelling, The Quest: Turas invites readers into a world where stories do not always stay inside books.
Inspired by a real adventure and accompanied by music created alongside the journey, this enchanting tale leaves readers with one lingering question:
What if the trail is still out there?
And if one day you happen to notice a glowing breadcrumb waiting quietly on your path?
Would you follow it?
Dove, Verné: - Dr Verné Dove, PhD, is a veterinarian, conservationist, explorer, and storyteller whose life has been shaped by curiosity, courage, and a deep belief in the power of wonder.Much of her career has been devoted to the care and conservation of marine mammals, working extensively as a dolphin veterinarian and contributing her expertise to international conservation initiatives. Her academic journey reflects the same relentless curiosity that defines her creative work. Dr Dove holds two bachelor's degrees, two master's degrees, a professional diploma, and a PhD, building a rare and diverse foundation in science, research, and animal welfare. Her writing career began in the scientific world, where she has published academic papers, her doctoral thesis, and contributed as a co-author to an International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) conservation toolkit manual. Yet beyond science, Verné has always been drawn to stories, the quiet threads of adventure and possibility that weave through real life.Having travelled extensively and lived in six countries, her experiences across cultures, landscapes, and oceans have shaped both her perspective and her imagination. These journeys have shown her that the most extraordinary stories often begin with a single, curious idea.Alongside her veterinary career, Verné is the visionary creator behind the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House in Australia, an immersive world where nature, theatre, art, and storytelling come together to spark wonder in visitors of all ages. The Quest: Turas grew from an extraordinary real-life adventure that began as a secret quest written for a king. What was never expected was that the storyteller and the king would one day meet, turning imagination into reality.Today, through her books, music, and creative worlds, Dr Verné Dove invites others to rediscover something many people forget as they grow older: that the smallest breadcrumb of curiosity can lead to the greatest adventure. And sometimes, the story you follow ends up changing you.
