Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass der Text Thomas Bernhard als Vorlage gedient hat und eine produktive Rezeption stattgefunden hat. Wenn ich von Hypotext spreche, so lehne ich mich an die Theorie Gerard Genettes an, der den Begriff Hypotextualität wie folgend definiert: Darunter verstehe ich jede Beziehung zwischen einem Text B (den ich als Hypertext bezeichne) und einem Text A (den ich, wie zu erwarten, als Hypotext bezeichne), wobei Text B Text A auf eine Art und Weise überlagert, die nicht die des Kommentars ist. [...] Oder, um es anders zu sagen: Wir gehen vom allgemeinen Begriff eines Textes zweiten Grades [...], d.h. eines Textes aus, der von einem anderen, früheren Text abgeleitet ist. Zuerst wird eine kurze Inhaltsangabe des Prätextes wiedergegeben, die in kurzen Worten veranschaulichen soll, wie das Werk strukturell aufgebaut ist, welche Themen in Le Neveu de Rameau angesprochen werden und welche Figuren in diesem Dialog eine Rolle spielen. Das folgende Kapitel beschäftigt sich schlie lich mit den Überschneidungen und Unterschieden von Hypo- und Hypertext und bildet das Zentrum dieser Arbeit. Es handelt sich hauptsächlich um inhaltliche Entsprechungen mit dem bearbeiteten Hypotext und um kreative Missverständnisse, wie ich es anhand einiger Zitate aus beiden Werken, erläutern werde.
