Das Mittel, das er zun chst f r die Umsetzung w hlt, ist die Beteiligung am griechischen Freiheitskrieg. Die Arbeit setzt sich zum Ziel, Hyperions Einsatz im Befreiungskrieg der Griechen gegen die osmanische Herrschaft genauer zu untersuchen. Es soll als erstes herausgearbeitet werden, welche u eren Faktoren ma geblich f r die Entscheidung zur Partizipation waren und wie sein pers nliches Umfeld richtungsweisend auf ihn einwirken konnte. Auch Hyperions einzigartiges Wesen und seine ambivalente Welteinstellung sind von gr ter Relevanz bez glich des Entwicklungsprozesses, der Hyperion zum Freiheitsk mpfer werden l sst. Im Folgenden soll auf Hyperions konkrete Kriegserfahrungen eingegangen werden, wobei der Moment der Desillusionierung und die Abkehr von bisherigen Idealen von besonderer Bedeutung sind. Der letzte Abschnitt untersucht die Konsequenzen der Beteiligung am Freiheitskampf und ber cksichtigt hierbei die Auswirkungen auf sein pers nliches Umfeld, als auch seinen emotionalen Zustand und die daraus resultierenden Folgen f r Hyperions weiteres Leben.
