Die vielen und der Eine ist ein Roman von Ruth Lanshoff-Yorck, der 1930 veröffentlicht wurde. Das Werk der Nichte des Verlegers Samuel Fischer, zählt zu der Literatur der Weimarer Republik, genauer zu der Neuen Sachlichkeit. Dementsprechend orientiert sich ihr Schreibstil an der Öffentlichkeit, denn durch die allgemein verständliche Sprache sowie durch realitätsbezogene Darstellungen sollte der Massengeschmack getroffen werden. Abgesehen davon gehörte die Schriftstellerin der Berliner Bohème an, was in ihrem Werk klar abzulesen ist. Dabei beschreibt Landshoff-Yorck die Homo- und Bisexuellenszene. Sie liefert zusätzlich faszinierende Einblicke in die Welt der Promiskuität, der Androgynität sowie in die des Triebhaften Verlangens nach Sexuellem in Verbindung mit Drogen. Die Rollen werden neu verteilt. So scheinen die Männer weibliche Züge zu tragen und Frauen dafür einen Bubikopf und maskuline Kleidung. Im Gegensatz dazu steht Georgi Raičevs Angst. Eine Erzählung, die dem bulgarischen Expressionismus der 1920er Jahre zuzuordnen ist. Inspiriert wurde er dabei durch den Deutschen Expressionismus, der durch die Neue Sachlichkeit abgelöst wurde. Hervorzuheben wäre au erdem, dass Raičev ein Vertreter des literarischen Psychologismus gewesen ist. Besonders wichtig ist für ihn die Introspektive. Dabei geht er verstärkt auf das Innenleben des Helden ein und lässt Milieubeschreibungen überwiegend au er Acht, was im direkten Gegensatz zu Lanshoff-Yorcks Schreibstil und Absicht steht.
