Jahrhunderts befand sich Spanien an der Schwelle zu einer der bedeutesten Epoche seiner kulturellen Geschichte - dem Goldenen Zeitalter. Autoren wie Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Góngora und viele andere waren im Begriff ihre Werke zu erschaffen, welche später als Höhepunkte der spanischen Literatur und Kultur gelten würden. Das war auch die Zeit, in der die Ideen der Renaissance weite Verbreitung unter den Denkern, Literaten und Wissenschaftlern nicht nur in Spanien, sondern in ganz Europa gefunden haben. In au enpolitischer Hinsicht war die Eroberung Amerikas schon abgeschlossen und die Werke der ersten Chronisten über die Neue Welt waren seit einiger Zeit auf dem alten Kontinent bekannt. Genau zu diesem Zeitpunkt wurde auch das Geschichtswerk über Peru, Comentarios reales, auf der Halbinsel veröffentlicht. Kennzeichnend für seinen Autor, der in Peru geborene Mestize Garcilaso de la Vega, war nicht nur seine Abstammung, die ihn im Gegensatz zu den spanischen Geschichtsschreibern gestellt hat, sondern viel mehr seine erst spät begonnene literarische und zugleich humanistische Formation als Renaissanceautor. Der Einfluss der Epoche bestimmte seinen Stil, seine Denk- und Ausdrucksweise, sein ganzes Werk. Das Ziel dieser Hausarbeit ist Comentarios reales als Renaissancewerk zu untersuchen. In dem ersten Kapitel werden die wichtigsten Faktoren, die für die humanistische Formation des Autors bedeutend waren, so wie seine Interessen kurz ausgeführt. Im zweiten Kapitel werden die Motive und die Intention Garcilasos für das Entstehen des Werkes in Betracht gezogen. Als wichtige Renaissancemerkmale des Werkes werden die idealisierte Darstellung der inkaischen Zivilisation, das Menschenbild und die Bedeutung der "religión del Sol" un
