Der zweite Schwerpunkt widmet sich der Neugestaltung des Zivil-, Wirtschafts- und Familienrechts der Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate. Neben rechtstheoretischen Ausführungen wird auf praktische Fragen im Handelsrecht mit den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten eingegangen. Rechtsvergleichende Betrachtungen bilden dabei eine wichtige Methode, um Veränderungen, Probleme und Hemmnisse zu beschreiben.

Die Herausgeber: Hans-Georg Ebert wurde 1953 in Aue geboren. Nach dem Studium der Arabistik und Rechtswissenschaft promovierte er 1982 und habilitierte sich 1990 auf dem Gebiet des Islamischen Rechts. Seit 1998 hat er die Professur für Islamisches Recht an der Universität Leipzig inne.
Thoralf Hanstein wurde 1970 in Sondershausen geboren. Er studierte Arabistik, Religionswissenschaft und Betriebswirtschaftslehre. Seine Promotion erfolgte 2001 mit einer Arbeit zum Islamischen Recht in Indonesien.
