This book is a memoir about the life of John R. McDowall, who was known as the martyr of the seventh commandment in the nineteenth century. The seventh commandment is ""Thou shalt not commit adultery."" McDowall was a man who lived in the early nineteenth century and was known for his strong beliefs in morality and the importance of keeping the seventh commandment. He was a devout Christian who believed in the sanctity of marriage and the importance of fidelity. McDowall's life was cut short when he was accused of adultery and subsequently put on trial. He was found guilty and sentenced to death, which he accepted with grace and dignity. This book contains McDowall's memoirs as well as select remains of his writings and speeches. It provides a glimpse into the life of a man who was willing to die for his beliefs and serves as a reminder of the importance of morality and fidelity in today's society.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
