“But not quite full. But not quite empty
But not quite Mind, Heart, and Soul
But not quite Everything.”

Divided into Mind, Heart, and Soul, this intimate poetry collection traces the inner landscapes of thought, feeling, and being. Through lyrical reflections and free verses, it explores consciousness, longing, vulnerability, and the ache of almost understanding yourself.

Blending philosophical sensibility with emotional candour, these poems move from neural sparks to heart-deep tremors to unyielding existential endurance.

For readers who think deeply, feel fiercely, and live in the questions, you will return to But Not Quite time and again, when the voice within calls out.

Navya is an Indian poet and singer-songwriter. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition and Production from the Australian Institute of Music, Sydney, she is now pursuing a Master of Music (Music Education) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney, where her research is investigating the impact of mentorship on Indian singers.

She started her journey as an artist in high school with songs and poetry scribbled in her notebook. Navya writes from the soul. Creativity is her passion and fuel, manifesting most ardently in her words and melodies. Having discovered this passion at a young age, she began to scribe every empty page she could find with poems and songs. In her adolescence, words flowed through her like a cascading river. Now, in her young adulthood, she’s learning to harness the power of these words through the dams of pre-frontal clarity.

Despite having a great love and admiration for the language, she has scarcely been able to relate to other writers and poets. Having studied a diverse range of works by many linguistic artists throughout school and college, the pieces of but two personalities have left deep impressions on her sensibilities– Sri Rabindranath Tagore and Robert Frost. All her songs, all her poems, are seldom without a trace of these two beautiful minds. The simplicity of Frost’s words and the lyricism of Tagore’s works astound her immensely.
