Infused with Western esotericism, he elevated interfaith awareness and propelled Hinduism to a prominent global religion in the late 19th century. An influential figure in India's Hindu reform movements, he contributed significantly to the concept of nationalism during colonial times. Vivekananda established the Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission, gaining international recognition for his 1893 speech at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago.
