I.H. Hacker (1848-1933), a London Missionary Society pioneer, played a significant role in South Travancore Christian mission. The "Six years' Movement," led by Justus Joseph, predicted Christ's second coming in 1881, causing disruptions in established churches. Despite fervent devotion, the prophecy proved false, leading to the movement's collapse, and most followers returned to their missions. Basil Joseph Mathews (1879-1951) was an English historian, biographer, and writer on the ecumenical movement. In his early life, Mathews was a librarian, a journalist, and Editorial Secretary of the London Missionary Society.
