Bipin Chandra Pal (1858-1932) was a prominent Indian nationalist, writer, orator, social reformer, and freedom fighter in the Indian independence movement. He played a crucial role in the Swadeshi movement, opposing the British colonial government's partition of Bengal. Born in Poil, Bengal Presidency, he came from a Hindu Bengali Kayastha family. Pal studied at the Church Mission Society College and briefly at New Manchester College, Oxford. He married a widow after his first wife's death and joined the Brahmo Samaj. He became a leader of the Indian National Congress and was a key figure in the Lal-Bal-Pal trio, known for their revolutionary activities.
